Enviz extension privacy
This policy supplements the general Enviz privacy policy and describes the data used by the “Enviz — Add to my list” extension.
Single purpose
The extension has one purpose: allowing a user to extract visible information from an open product page, review it and pre-fill the Enviz add-item form.
User action required
The extension accesses the active page only after the user clicks its icon. It does not analyse other tabs in the background or collect browsing history.
Data read
Depending on what the merchant page exposes, the extension may read the page URL and domain, product title, price, main image URL and a short description. This information can be incomplete or inaccurate and remains editable before submission.
Chrome permissions
The activeTab permission temporarily grants access to the tab on which the user acts. The scripting permission allows local extraction code to run there. These are the only permissions requested. The extension does not use remote code.
Transfer and user control
Extraction and editing happen locally in the browser. When the user selects Continue on Enviz, the information is placed in the fragment of the enviz.fr/ajouter address. That fragment is not sent to the server with the HTTP request and does not appear in server logs. The site reads it locally, removes it from the address bar and, if sign-in is required, keeps it temporarily in the same tab’s session storage. Data is saved to Enviz only after the user selects a list and confirms Add to my list.
Data not collected
The extension does not read or collect passwords, cookies, payment details, health data, messages, personal files, complete browsing history or activity on pages the user did not choose to analyse.
Sharing, sale and affiliation
Extracted data is not sold, rented or used by the extension for advertising, profiling or credit assessment. It is shared only with Enviz and its technical providers after the user confirms the addition. The extension records the standard merchant link and does not itself add any affiliate cookie or identifier.
Retention
The extension has no database. Product information remains in the extension window until it closes and, when required to complete sign-in, in enviz.fr session storage. That temporary storage is removed after lists load. Once an addition is confirmed, the item follows the retention periods in the general Enviz privacy policy.
Limited use
Information received through Chrome APIs is used in accordance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements. It is used only for the visible feature requested by the user.
Security
Connections to Enviz use HTTPS. Received fields are length-limited and URLs are validated before display. Extracted data must nevertheless be treated as user input and checked before confirmation.
Controller and rights
The data controller is Quentin Vavasseur, 18 boulevard Richard Wagner, 37000 Tours, France. Telephone: +33 6 35 77 20 75. To exercise the rights in the general policy or ask about the extension, email contact@enviz.fr. A complaint may be submitted to CNIL at cnil.fr.
Affiliation after an item is added
When an item added by the extension later appears on a shared list, the Enviz website may, with the visitor’s consent, convert the merchant link at click time through Awin. Enviz may then receive a commission on an eligible purchase without changing the price paid. This processing takes place on enviz.fr, not in the extension, and is described in the general policy and Cookies page.
